Getting Nast-y with Political Cartoons with Your Students

Participants will work with a variety of techniques to interpret and analyze political cartoons to better understand historical context. Model interpretation and analytical techniques and discover ways to engage your students using primary resources. Receive ready-made lessons with political cartoons to engage your students in interpreting visual primary sources. Participants will have the opportunity to use techniques interpreting using ready-made lesson plans. Participants will be able to collaborate with others and share ideas to connect and engage in new teaching ideas to further engage their students in gaining a deeper understanding of the power of political cartoons. Participants will be able to model lessons that they can bring back to their classrooms.
