The Case Method
During this half-day Zoom-based workshop, participants will receive comprehensive training in teaching history by the case method. By putting students in the role of historical decision-makers, the case method fosters a richer understanding of history, government, and civics while developing essential reasoning and discussion skills. The training will consist of an interactive case study discussion taught by Harvard Business School Professor David Moss. Live Q&A sessions with current high school teachers and Professor Moss will let participants dive deeper into the pedagogy and classroom experience. Upon completion of the PD program, participants will receive access to 22 expertly developed case studies and accompanying teaching materials covering pivotal moments in U.S. history. All teachers who complete the program also receive ongoing individualized support from CMI’s in-house team who are dedicated to helping you bring case method teaching to your classroom.
Interested teachers are invited to apply. After your application has been received, CMI will share details on how to register for the workshop.
Note: This workshop includes 3-5 hours of self-paced work in advance.
