National History Day

Indiana National History Day (INHD) is a highly regarded educational program that engages students across Indiana in grades 4 through 12 in the discovery and interpretation of historical topics. Participants conduct extensive research and then present their findings through various formats such as exhibits, documentaries, papers, performances, or websites. This program is part of the larger National History Day competition, which culminates in a national contest held annually in College Park, Maryland. INHD not only fosters a deeper understanding of history among young learners but also develops critical thinking, writing, and research skills. Through this immersive educational experience, students gain a heightened appreciation for historical contexts, enhance their ability to analyze and interpret data, and improve their presentation and communication skills, all while competing for honors and recognition at the state and potentially national levels.
